In India corruption has reach unprecedented level. Last year was the year of the scams which proved to be communal and every Indian citizen has been witness to the UPA government's rule in the country over the years. Today, if anybody wants to earn money then he thinks to join politics. Because, it is a destination where any Chintoo and his Chacha can earn lot of wealth through means of corruption. Sadly, even Bureaucrats fall in that category. Because of this a common man suffers. But, there are some youths like Raghav who urged to come up and fight against corruption. Other than corruption, Love is the aspect where our youths are involved. Celebrated youth icon Chetan Bhagat has dealt with the universal topic of love and corruption in his new book called “Revolution 2020”.
The author Chetan Bhagat has very well written about the love triangle of 3 school friends i.e. Gopal who is the main protagonist in the story, his lover Aarti and Gopal’s school friend and Aarti’s so called husband Raghav. A story which starts from stealing a cake in school, it ends in a different scenario. The main character becomes a best friend of Aarti and thereafter he falls in love with her. Whereas, Aarti had restricted her friendship to a certain level because of which Gopal had not taken it for granted. While reading the book, I recollect those days of mine where I had spent some moments which these 2 friends had. But unlike Gopal, I had taken it positively when that _ _ _ _ _ instant had faced by me. Gopal was being too jealous with the events that was happening between Aarti and Raghav. Also, it was the weak time for him when he was @ Kota for cracking the entrance exams. Other than this, he had seen many ups and downs in his life like land issue, exams results, father’s diseases and becoming an orphan. Thereafter, the luck worked out from Gopal’s side when he meets the MLA Shukla. He helped Gopal to build a College from the funds which he had made through the means of corruption. He was too corrupt person in Varanasi. He pulled out crores of rupees from Ganga Action Plan where he had installed Sewage Treatment Plant which was of inferior quality.
At the end, the story has a pretty twist. Also, I feel sad for the main character Gopal as he wouldn’t get the utmost thing which he was expecting. Also, salute to Raghav that he stood up and fight against the corruption that involved in Varanasi. If one could think, definitely he ought to do such things for creating better India….
